Carlo DeVito has more than 20 years experience as a publishing executive. His authors include Kevin Zraly, Oz Clarke, Matt Kramer, Tom Stevenson, as well as Wine Spectator and the New York Times. He is the author of East Coast Wineries: From Maine to Virginia, and more than 20 books, including the soon to be published DRINKING THE NORTHEAST. He is also the winner of ASWA 2022 Birchenell Award contributions to promoting knowledge of the East Coast Wine Industry through his own writings, editing/publication of written works covering that industry, and his own video log covering wineries during the pandemic.
He is the author of such whiskey books as THE NEW SINGLE MALT WHISKEY, BIG WHISKEY, and THE SPIRIT OF RYE. BIG WHISKEY (in which Ms. Weaver is featured, has sold more than 50,000 copies). THE SPIRIT OF RYE was named one of the Top 10 Spirits Books of the Year by Tales of the Cocktail. I am currently working on a 400+ page book about the distilleries of Tennessee entitled TENNESEE WHISKEY.
He has worked with Clay Risen, Lew Bryson, Clay Risen, James Meehan, Michael Jackson, Gary Reagan, Salvatore Calabrese, Wine Spectator and the New York Times. His food authors include Gordon Ramsey, the Beekman Boys, Good Housekeeping, and many others. His past authors have also included Stephen Hawking, Dan Rather, EO Wilson, Michael Lewis, Arthur M. Schlesinger Jr., James McPherson, Gilbert King, Stanley Crouch, David Margolick, and many others.He founded the Hudson-Chatham Winery (2005-2018) which was award the first ever score of 90+ for a dry red hybrid by Wine Enthusiast. He was also winemaker at Unionville Vineyards. He is also currently working on a major social history of New York state through the lens of beer.
