Maria E. Denton, CSS CSW CWE, is the Food & Beverage Training Manager for the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, part of the Marriott International family of hotels. She brings over 30 years experience to this role, having started her wines & spirits career in the restaurant industry, working her way from server to bartender and eventually to upper management. Maria has also worked in the beverage wholesale business, as a beverage instructor, and as a lead sommelier for several international wines events. Always an advocate of education, Maria has been a mentor to DC-area sommeliers, and served on the Society of Wine Educators Board of Directors from 2008 to 2014.
