John Jung, started learning about wine at Tersiguel’s French restaurant in Ellicott City where he became the sommelier. John went on to be the restaurant manager and sommelier at Antrim 1844. For the past 11 years he’s been with Southern Wine & Spirits, first as a wine specialist and now as a district manager.

John’s completed the Level 3 Advanced course with the Court of Master Sommelier’s, is a Certified Specialist of Wine, a Certified Specialist of Spirits, a French Wine Scholar, Italian Wine Professional, Wines of France Certified, a Certified Sherry Wine Specialist, and is currently completing the Spanish Wine Scholar program.

He’s been a judge for the Maryland Governor Cup for the past 9 years, a captain for the past 5, as well as judged for the Maryland Comptroller Cup and the Virginia Governor Cup. He also interned at the Black Ankle winery for the 2010 harvest.
